Qualifications

Starting Rate: $18 /hour

As an Instructional Aide, you will play a vital role in student success by providing personalized support, supervision, and guidance. You will collaborate with classroom educators to implement each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), tailoring instruction to their needs both in the classroom and community. Your dedication will empower students to reach their full potential, building skills and confidence.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborating with teachers to create a supportive, welcoming, and high-achieving learning environment.
  • Implementing individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings.
  • Monitoring students during lessons, ensuring fidelity to instruction, and applying targeted strategies.
  • Tracking student progress and communicating with teachers about successes and areas for improvement.
  • Managing student behavior effectively, reinforcing school policies, and applying disciplinary measures collaboratively.
  • Supporting students facing academic challenges, encouraging growth, and developing essential skills.
  • Documenting student behaviors and performance accurately and timely, and reporting observations.
  • Assisting with behavioral reports, activity logs, and documentation.
  • Communicating proactively with students, colleagues, families, and administrators.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of student records and information.
  • Participating in accreditation activities and school meetings to foster collaboration.
  • Responding to feedback and engaging in professional growth.
  • Performing additional duties to support student success and the educational community.

Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with passage of basic skills test.
  • Associate degree or higher in education or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a state driver's license.
  • Licensed or in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional or similar credential preferred.
  • Experience working with children, especially in special education.
  • Skilled in working with children with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, or challenging behaviors.
  • Comfortable driving or riding in a company van with students.
  • Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions.
  • Proficient in motivating students and conducting critical conversations.
  • Strong communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of instructional technology, Microsoft Office, and basic office equipment.
