The Marion County Sheriff's Office is seeking both trainee and certified Institutions Deputies to join the Institutions team. Deputies provide 24-hour supervision of adults in custody and facilitate programs/services for those in custody.

This on-site position offers a structured pay scale, comprehensive benefits including retirement and insurance, and opportunities for career advancement through DPSST certifications.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship required.
• At least 21 years old at time of employment.
• Must pass physical duties requirement and maintain fitness.
• High moral character; no disqualifying conduct or crimes.
• For certified level, DPSST certification is required or must be attained.

Responsabilités

• Maintain security, sanitation, health, and medical standards for adults in custody.
• Ensure due process rights of individuals in disciplinary matters.
• Escort and supervise inmates and discipline according to policy.
• Respond to emergencies and operate in a 24/7 facility environment.
• Prepare reports, logs, and unit rosters; maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate with incident command and other staff as needed.
