GENERAL FUNCTION: The Fifth Third Institutional Services (FTIS) Senior Relationship Manager serves as the primary contact for a moderate volume of assigned national and regional institutional clients of varying complexity. The role is responsible for overall client satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth through cross-sales and product upgrades, focusing on new business and deepening existing relationships. Extensive knowledge of Fifth Third's institutional products and services, including retirement plan services, investment management solutions, and trust and custody solutions, is essential.

Responsible for risk management by adhering to policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions align with the bank's risk appetite. Committed to doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, fostering a positive customer experience, and managing risks proactively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Build consultative relationships with C-suite and senior management decision-makers within assigned institutional clients.
  2. Adhere to and document interactions within the CRM system, following the defined service and engagement model.
  3. Drive client engagement through feedback to meet desired goals.
  4. Leverage knowledge of FTIS products and services to expand existing relationships via cross-sales.
  5. Promote Fifth Third Institutional Services' mission, values, and differentiators.
  6. Analyze industry and client-specific trends for strategic consulting.
  7. Develop and close cross-sell opportunities, achieving annual sales goals, and document progress in CRM.
  8. Collaborate with Institutional Sales Officers on new business development, including prospect meetings and presentations.
  9. Develop internal relationships across various bank departments to support a consultative sales approach.
  10. Manage client documentation, pricing, profitability, and fee structures in line with guidelines.
  11. Coordinate the implementation of new products and services, addressing issues independently and meeting deadlines.
  12. Ensure compliance and proper documentation for new business and asset acceptance.
  13. Conduct timely and accurate annual administrative reviews with the client service team.
  14. Retain clients by delivering high standards of service and support.
  15. Facilitate client reviews and document interactions promptly within CRM.
  16. Oversee fee invoicing accuracy and collection.
  17. Partner with operational teams to enhance client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  18. Represent Fifth Third in community and professional groups to develop contacts and promote the bank.
  19. Mentor less experienced team members.
  20. Participate in special projects to improve FTIS products and services.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • At least eight years of experience in Institutional Services or related financial areas.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent relationship management and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment with minimal exposure to physical hazards.

Compensation: This position features incentive-based pay combined with a base salary or draw, dependent on performance and company policies. Total compensation varies accordingly.
