The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 1,750 hours of related experience, and certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Restraint, with the ability to obtain Texas juvenile credentials. Spanish bilingual preferred; valid driver's license required.
Provide a safe, secure and positive environment for juveniles detained in the Juvenile Detention Center.Supervise the activities of juveniles in the course of meeting their educational, emotional, recreational, disciplinary and basic child care needs.Supervise family visitation and documents juveniles' behavior and adaptation to a secure, supervised setting on a daily basis.
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to walk, sit, stand, bend, stoop and lift.Exposure to communicable and contagious diseases; potential for physical and mechanical restraint situations involving juveniles who are violent and self destructive.
