Coinbase, Inc. is hiring a Credit Risk Analyst to join the Counterparty and Credit Risk team within Financial & Operational Risk. The role covers underwriting counterparties, monitoring exposures, and recommending risk-based limits for a fast-evolving digital asset market.

You'll own credit analyses for complex counterparties, communicate risk to senior leaders, and collaborate with legal, operations and product teams to manage risk in a remote-first, highly engaged environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of hands-on credit risk management experience in financial services or digital assets.
• Experience covering institutional clients such as hedge funds, asset managers, private equity or venture capital.
• Working knowledge of capital markets products and standard documentation (PBAs, MLAs, prime brokerage agreements).
• Ability to produce clear written credit memos and present risk recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency building quantitative credit models and exposure analyses using spreadsheets, SQL, or other tools.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own diligence and underwriting of institutional counterparties including hedge funds, asset managers, private equity, and VC firms.
• Recommend internal credit ratings and risk-based limits with written analyses for leadership review.
• Monitor portfolio exposures and communicate concentration trends and settlement risks to leadership.
• Analyze asset volatility and liquidity risks to inform limit-setting and capital planning.
• Negotiate industry documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve client or product challenges.
