Job summary

New York Life in Jersey City is seeking an Institutional Client Service Representative to support institutional clients across Stable Value and Guaranteed Products. You will ensure accurate trade processing, resolve service issues, and maintain high-quality client support.

You will build strong relationships with clients and internal partners, learn regulatory and company policies, and grow your expertise in contract provisions and transaction processing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience.
  • General knowledge of Group Annuity Contracts and/or Stable Value Contracts a plus.
  • General knowledge of Pension Plans (Defined Benefit/Contribution) a plus.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform in a high volume, fast paced call center environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process annuity requests for Group Annuity contracts in accordance with contractual provisions.
  • Process Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) requests.
  • Handle inbound/outbound calls from customer service lines, responding to inquiries.
  • Provide up-to-date information for Institutional clients including pricing, balances, and tax information.
  • Establish and maintain high-quality internal and external customer relationships.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of applications, products and services.
  • Maintain files in accordance with company policies.
  • Provide support to Stable Value Service group.

Role Overview

The Institutional Client Service Representative plays a critical role in supporting institutional clients across our Stable Value and Guaranteed Products business lines. In this role, you will ensure accurate trade processing, resolve service-related issues, and provide timely, high-quality client support. You will also build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal partners, contributing to the continued growth and success of our institutional business.

Training & Development

You will receive training, ongoing coaching, and mentoring to develop expertise in institutional products, contract provisions, and transaction processing. Our supportive environment is designed to help you build the skills needed to excel, while providing opportunities for career advancement within Client Services and the broader Institutional Investments team.

What You'll Do
  • Process annuity requests for Group Annuity contracts in accordance with contractual provisions.
  • Process Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) requests.
  • Handle inbound/outbound calls from the customer service lines, responding to both institutional and individual annuitant inquiries.
  • Provide up to date information for Institutional clients including pricing, interest calculations, account balances, audit inquiries, annuity quote request and information for tax filings.
  • Establish and maintain high quality internal and external customer relationships – assessing and responding to their needs effectively.
  • Develop an understanding of operational procedures as well as company, industry and regulatory policies and be able to communicate with clients regarding these matters.
  • Learn and maintain a strong working knowledge of multiple applications, products and services.
  • Maintain files in accordance with company business policies.
  • Provide support to Stable Value Service group.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical industry knowledge to day-to-day issues and leverage technology for improved service delivery.

Candidates must live within 50 miles radius of our 30 Hudson Street Jersey City, NJ 07302 location to be considered

Pay Transparency
  • Salary Range: $45,000-$52,000
  • Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
  • Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
  • Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
