Role: Institutional Client Marketing Associate, Asset Management Product Marketing

The Institutional Client Marketing Associate will serve as the channel marketing expert and advocate with the aim of expanding and deepening the relationship with our Institutional clients. Reporting to the Head of Institutional Marketing for the Americas, this role will act as an active business partner to this channel and proactively lead the development, direction, and execution of the overall marketing and communications strategy to position and promote our asset management capabilities. The ultimate objective of the role is to drive greater awareness and adoption of our investment products and overall knowledge of the Northern Trust Asset Management brand.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

1. Help implement marketing plans to achieve business, channel and corporate objectives, while effectively managing brand and reputational risk. Oversees planning, development and execution of short- and long-range goals for the channel.
2. Create targeted messaging, thought leadership and social media outreach to support the business and continually build the brand.
3. Build and manage email campaigns in distribution platforms (i.e., Marketo, Poppulo) and coordinate dissemination across relevant platforms to ensure timely and effective campaign delivery to target audiences.
4. Maintain sales enablement and webpages targeting key institutional audiences, ensuring relevance and strategy alignment.
5. Lead internal communication and reporting to keep marketing and distribution partners up to date with marketing plans, campaign performance, and new sales enablement.
6. Track and analyze key performance metrics across channel marketing campaigns to identify areas of success and improvement; deliver insights and reporting to inform decision-making.
7. Contribute to strategic brainstorming sessions and support the development of innovative campaign ideas tailored to the AMRS institutional client base.
8. Assist in project planning, milestone tracking, and cross-functional coordination to ensure timely and efficient delivery of marketing initiatives.
9. Demonstrate initiative and creativity in independently recommending and implementing marketing solutions. Analyze costs impacting marketing decisions and other related issues and develops cost effective solutions to marketing issues.
10. Develop and maintain broad knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, and industry developments specific to the business area – specifically social media and digital marketing outlets.
11. Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.
12. May have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Management.

Skills/qualifications:

1. 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, ideally within asset management or financial services.
2. Proven experience managing or supporting cross-functional marketing projects from planning through execution, with a strong attention to timelines and detail.
3. Build and manage email campaigns in Marketo and coordinate distribution across relevant platforms to ensure timely and effective campaign delivery to target audiences.
4. Experience managing and optimizing content across professional social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn), with a strong understanding of tone, timing, and audience engagement strategies.
5. Comfortable analyzing marketing data and campaign performance metrics to generate actionable insights and inform future strategy.
6. Strong understanding of the institutional sales process and technical investments.
7. Successful experience working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, with a proven ability to think analytically and creatively.
8. Superior interpersonal skills - including the ability to work effectively in various team settings and influence senior partners is critical.
9. Results-driven, high-performing individual with excellent planning skills and attention to detail.
10. Strong attention to detail and delivers a work product that requires minimal revision.
11. Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions.

Salary Range:
$85,330 - 145,130 USD
