Job description

JOB OVERVIEW

Installer/Service Technicians install materials that HLC sells as directed by the Install/Service supervisor. This person must be passionate & professional about diagnosing, seeking solutions to assist in the overall success of the Door & Window dept.

As a team, they play a huge role in the success of our DW sales department by offering expert service and installation of the products we sell. This team builds relationships by offering our customer base education and knowledge of proper installation techniques and maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Keep work area neat and clean, including routine maintenance/cleaning of service van, washing glass upon job completion, removal of all debris at job site including packaging, replaced product, and tools.
  2. Always make customers feel welcome and comfortable whether in the store or showroom.
  3. Maintain professional appearance consisting of HLC shirts and boot protection whenever entering a customer’s home.
  4. After leaving each job, create clear notes of any issues, concerns, comments, promises made to homeowner to keep complete and clear office files.
  5. Responsible for maintaining all showroom displays. Routine walk-through, checking for clean operation.
  6. Display a professional attitude, and demeanor, including courteous interactions with team members and other company leaders.
  7. Actively contribute to the work of sales teams, and promote high standards of customer service by creating energy and enthusiasm.
  8. Ability to think through problems using common sense and foresight.
  9. Continually learning new products and improve on selling skills. Attend vendor and outside sourced training seminars to sharpen skills.
  10. Ability to handle and prioritize several projects at a time in different stages of completion.
  11. Obtain deposits/payments of product and services as per company guidelines.
  12. Follow up with customer after completion to confirm project satisfaction and resolve any concerns immediately to take advantage of any warranty opportunities.
  13. Continue to develop relationships with existing customers and generate new relationships.
  14. Handle all customer complaints and call on your department head to work out best solutions.
  15. Able to demonstrate the use of merchandise upon request.
  16. If information is not at hand, do everything within your power to assure customer you will find the correct information and in a reasonable amount of time and call back even if you have nothing to offer yet.
  17. Maintain a positive attitude and be a team player. Act as a mentor to others sharing knowledge and best practices to advance not only individual but departmental and organizational goals in the spirit of teamwork.
  18. The work area is kept clean and clear while working within customers' homes.
  19. Assuming other duties as workload and need dictate.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  1. Excellent listening skills, resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction.

  5. Minimum high school education.
  6. DOT medical card.
  7. Driving record in good standing.

  9. Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a similar position.
  10. Ability to think through problems using common sense and foresight.
  11. Ability to install, repair, service, test, and troubleshoot product.
  12. Familiar with hand and power tools.
  13. Mechanical background preferred.
