Job summary

HouseSmart Construction, a Clayton Homes division, is hiring a full-time construction helper in Shelby, NC. You’ll support the Crew Chief, assist with setup, and perform hands-on tasks outdoors, using hand and power tools. You’ll learn to level, bolt, anchor, and handle basic masonry and utility crossovers.

• General construction experience.
• Able to work outdoors and at heights.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and using hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Support Crew Chief in safely setting up manufactured homes.
• Independently complete construction tasks as directed.
• Install vapor barriers and other basic tasks.
• Assist with leveling, bolting floors/walls, and anchoring.
• Perform basic masonry and assist with electrical/plumbing crossovers.
• Learn and apply safety practices while training new hires.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Supporting the Crew Chief and team with safely setting up the manufactured home by
• Work to quickly and independently own various construction tasks needed to set up the home such as
• Installing vapor barriers, which we will train new hires on
• Learn how to and become comfortable with leveling and bolting floors and walls, anchoring walls, and other specific, technical tasks
• Basic masonry work
• Assisting with electrical and plumbing crossovers
• Assisting with bonding wires and repair bottom board
• Help new team members develop and learn new skills safely
• Partner with the Crew Chief to understand what needs to be done for the day

When You'll Be Doing It:

Full-time, Monday through Friday

Pay:

$17.00+ based on experience
