Job summary

Leader Ambulance in Southern California is hiring an entry-level assembler to install interior and exterior components on Type 1–Type 3 ambulances. You will set work priorities to meet production goals, meet QA/QC standards, and contribute to the Lean Manufacturing culture while following safety rules.

Ideal candidates can read and write in English, interpret engineering drawings, and use measuring tools. 0–1 years in manufacturing is preferred; California pay ranges from $19.15 to $23.74 per

Qualifications

  • Must read, write, comprehend and verbally communicate simple instructions in English.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts.
  • Ability to read and use measuring devices.
  • Familiar with drills, screw guns, table saws, band saws and routers.
  • Maintain QA and QC standards in all tasks.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.

Installation of various vehicle interior/exterior parts.

Responsibilities
  • Installation of all interior/exterior components and hardware
  • Set work priorities to meet production goals as schedules
  • Meet all QA and QC standards for each task
  • Function with a minimal amount of supervision
  • Meet standards of safety and 5S standards
  • Promote the use and applications of Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement tools as part of the culture
  • Be compliant with the rules of conduct and attendance policy
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment)
  • Ability to read, write comprehend and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English
  • Must be able to prioritize work
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English
  • Ability to read and use a linear and other measuring devises
  • Familiar with various tools; drills, screw gun, table saw, band saw and router
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards
  • Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it
Education and Experience
  • 0-1 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
Physical Demands
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40#’s
  • The employee is regularly required to stand or walk; use hands to finger; handle or feel objects; and reach with hand and arms.
  • The employee is required to be squatting, kneeling or bending position
  • Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding
  • Ability to stand at workstation for 10 hours a day
  • Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools and machinery
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Ability to work with arms above head.
  • Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. Employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particle and vibration. Employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

The pay scale for newly hired employees in this position at this location in California is between $19.15 - $23.74 and in New York is <>. This is based on meeting all of the requirements of the role.
