Job summary

Service Experts is seeking an Installer Helper to support residential and light commercial HVAC installations in customer homes. You will work under the Installer or Lead Installer to ensure proper installation of equipment and accessories in line with company standards.

The role emphasizes safety, accurate paperwork, and professional conduct, with opportunities for growth across the U.S. A valid driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with HVAC training preferred.
• EPA and safety certifications required.
• Must possess valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Able to read wiring diagrams and operate related tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist Installer or Lead Installer to install HVAC equipment in customer homes.
• Assist with installation of heating, cooling, ventilation and related accessories.
• Help install ducts and duct fittings and ensure safety and quality.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain satisfaction.
• Assist in delivering and removing equipment needed for installations.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and paperwork neatly and timely.

Welcome!

Assists the Installer or Lead Installer in the installation of residential and/or light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Work is performed under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Works under direct supervision of the Installer or Lead Installer to install HVAC equipment and accessories in the customer’s home
• Assists with the installation of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, as well as accessories, in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer specifications
• Assists in the installation of ducts and duct fittings
• Performs duties so as to deliver excellent customer service and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction
• Assists in the delivery and removal of equipment needed to complete the installation work
• Assists the Installer or Lead Installer in ensuring company property, vehicles, and tools are being properly used, maintained, and properly accounted for
• As needed or required, completes all paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough, and timely manner
• Represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and concerns
• Responsible with the Installer for keeping installation vehicle clean and neat both inside and outside in keeping with the company’s professional image
• Performs similar/other duties as needed or assigned
• Regular, reliable attendance

Desired Skills And Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with additional training and 0 to 2 years’ experience in HVAC with technical training certification preferred
• Must possess all valid licensing or certification as required by federal, state, provincial, or local governmental laws or regulations for the geographical work area
• EPA and safety certifications required
• Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of the operational functionality of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment as well as related accessories
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate, or learn to operate, all necessary tools and equipment
• Basic skills in reading wiring diagrams
• Effective communication skills to communicate with customer and to provide excellent customer service
• Effective and efficient time-management and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
• Ability to stand and walk and to climb ladders and attic stairs and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units. Ability to continually climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to the following: hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, slippery surfaces, heights, and congested areas
• Ability to safely climb 300lb load capacity rated ladders with a 30lb tool belt
• Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
