Walpole Outdoors in Morris Plains, NJ is seeking an Installation Helper to join our fencing and outdoor living team. You will assist with installation tasks, follow crew directions, lift materials, and help maintain a safe, efficient job site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must be able to lift 50-70 pounds.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Driving license required for commuting to Morris Plains, NJ.
• Willingness to undertake training if necessary.
• Report to work on time.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of fencing, gates and pergolas.
• Support the Crew Lead and Installers ensuring safety and quality.
• Learn and perform essential helper functions.
• Read and understand paperwork.
• Gather materials and tools.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Prepare the work area and assess terrain.
• Maintain a positive, proactive work ethic on site.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation of quality fencing solutions, providing exceptional service and craftsmanship
• Follow instructions and support the Crew Lead and Installers in all aspects of the job, ensuring safety, efficiency, and the highest standards of work
• Learn and perform the essential functions of the Helper role, aiming for proficiency and autonomy in your tasks
• Read and understand paperwork
• Gather materials & tools
• Load and unload trucks
• Prepare the work area by clearing debris, marking boundaries, and assessing the terrain for potential challenges or obstacles
• Maintain a positive and proactive work ethic, contributing to a safe and orderly job site.

Preferred skillset

• Construction background (Preferred)
• Installation of Mailbox and Mail Post, Fence work (Preferred).
• Tool handling skill set required: (Drill, screw driver, chipping hammer, Sanding, multitool, and so on)
• Driving license required. (Commuting to Morris Plains, NJ)

Safety Compliance

Requirements

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent highly preferred

• Previous related experience preferred
• Reliable transportation

Report to work on time

Willingness to undertake training if necessary

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas
• Must be able to lift, push, and carry 50-70 pounds
• Must be able to work in various conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat and cold
