Job summary

E2 Optics, a award-winning, Woman-Owned technology integrator in Columbus, OH, seeks an Installer to join our field operations team. You will work with cutting-edge structured cabling systems in premier data center environments, supported by hands-on training, industry certifications, and leadership opportunities.

This full-time on-site role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and growth, with travel as needed to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification required within first 2 weeks in role.
• Ability to read and interpret floorplans and specifications.
• Must be able to distinguish color codes in wiring and cabling.
• Proven ability to work in a team and maintain safety standards.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe work practices and client site policies.
• Assist project team with installation activities as needed.
• Maintain organized jobsite materials, tools and debris removal.
• Learn to read floorplans, drawings, and cut sheets.
• Install structured cabling systems per specifications.
• Travel 5%–50% depending on region and project requirements.

What You'll Do

Safety is E2 Optics' number one Core Value. All employees are expected to follow safe work practices, as well as adhere to company and client worksite safety policies and procedures.

• Follow safe work practices and company and client worksite policies.
• Assisting the project team with installation activities as needed.
• Proactively maintain jobsite organization and basic housekeeping. Organize materials, tools, and equipment, collect debris, and ensure hazardous conditions are promptly addressed.
• Learn to read and interpret floorplans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets.
• Learn about the different materials and methodologies involved with the installation of a structured cabling system.
• Seek to understand a task and ask relevant questions before beginning to complete it.
• Maintain a satisfactory compliance with customer security requirements.
• Exhibit and maintain professional appearance and behavior.
• This position is generally expected to require minimal overnight travel (5%) in certain regions, could require frequent (50%+) overnight and extended out-of-town travel in others. The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2 Optics.

What We Are Looking For

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This role requires sitting, use of hands and arms, verbal communication, and occasional physical movement such as stooping or kneeling. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so. The employee may also be required to work in tight and confined spaces. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
