EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt / hourly
The Installation Technician (I.T.) lives VIP’s mission to EARN AUTOMOTIVE CUSTOMERS FOR LIFE by learning and living the VIP culture and following VIP processes to ensure that customers get a different & better experience. An I.T. must work effectively and safely to ensure good communication, teamwork, and operation in serving customers. The I.T. is responsible for effective repair and replacement of automotive tires, parts, fluids, and accessories and ensuring these services are done right the first time. An I.T. is expected to comply with company safety, loss prevention, and customer service programs as well as established policies and procedures and municipal, state, and federal regulations.
5 days, 40 hours/week. Be punctual and ready to work at scheduled times.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to interpret technical instructions, explain vehicle issues to customers, diagnose basic problems, and perform automotive services.
Experience and Education: At least one year in automotive service, completion of a two-year college or technical program preferred, or equivalent experience.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license, ASE certifications (G1, A4, A5), and state-specific inspections as required.
Work is performed indoors in a service department with exposure to weather, noise, chemicals, and mechanical equipment. Protective eyewear is mandatory. Physical activities include reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, walking, climbing, kneeling, and lifting, with appropriate safety support.
