Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking Installation Technicians for apprentice, journeyman, and lead levels to install luxury smart home systems across Washington State. The role covers A/V, lighting, automation, security, and access control, with field-based work in Bellevue and surrounding areas.

You will work hands-on on projects with Crestron, Control4, and Lutron platforms, and travel periodically for out-of-state assignments. Competitive hourly pay varies by experience level and project scope.

Formación

• Journeyman Electrician card required.
• 3+ years control and integration, smart home or low-voltage installation experience for journeyman level.
• Hands-on experience with Crestron, Control4 and Lutron.
• Familiarity with alarm and access control systems.
• Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve installation issues.
• Willingness to travel for occasional assignments.

Installation Technician - Luxury Smart Home Technology

Location: Bellevue, WA (field-based across Washington State)

Pay: $30-$32/hour for apprentices; $50-$60/hour for journeyman-level technicians, depending on experience

Schedule: Full-time

Travel: Approximately one week every two months

About the Opportunity

Are you passionate about smart home technology and enjoy hands-on installation work? We’re looking for Installation Technicians at apprentice, journeyman, and lead levels to join a growing residential technology integration team serving the luxury custom home market.

In this role, you’ll help bring advanced home technology systems to life, installing integrated audio/video, lighting control, automation, security, and access control solutions. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians and specialists on projects where craftsmanship, reliability, and attention to detail are essential.

What You’ll Do

• Install and wire residential automation, audio/video, lighting control, security, and access control systems.
• Work hands-on with Crestron, Control4, and Lutron platforms.
• Install alarm and access control systems, including ELK and ICT.
• Fabricate cables, terminate connections, and install equipment in the field.
• Troubleshoot wiring, connections, and basic equipment or network issues.
• Use laptops and software such as D-Tools and Project 360 for job documentation and system setup.
• Coordinate with project managers, programmers, and other technicians to complete installations.
• Work in pairs or small crews on luxury residential projects, ranging from shorter installations to larger projects lasting several months.
• Travel for occasional out-of-state assignments, typically lasting about one week.

What We’re Looking For

• A Journeyman Electrician card for journeyman-level candidates.
• At least 3 years of control and integration, smart home automation, or related low-voltage installation experience for journeyman-level candidates.
• Hands-on experience with Crestron, Control4, and Lutron.
• Familiarity with alarm and access control systems.
• Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve installation issues.
• Comfort using laptops, Microsoft Office, and business software.
• Willingness to travel for occasional week-long assignments.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Additional experience that stands out: Luxury custom homes, ELK, ICT, D-Tools, networking, manufacturer certifications, or installation crew leadership.

• Competitive hourly pay based on experience, with journeyman rates reaching $60/hour.
