Overview:

We are searching for an Installation Technician I located near any major Central Europe airport. This is an exciting opportunity to have a real impact on the development of our lab automation platforms. The successful candidate will work with multiple teams to configure robotic systems to meet customer installation specifications and then travel to that customer site for the installation. This will be a customer-facing role when on-site with our clients, so polished, professional communication is essential!

This is an amazing opportunity for someone looking for an entry-level role or someone passionate about the intersection of life sciences and robotics. This is a home-based position but requires a significant amount of domestic and international travel, up to 80%.

The ideal candidate would be a curious individual and fast learner, able to work independently, as well as work cross-functionally internally and with a customer. The ideal candidate will collaborate with other system techs to complete builds on time with high-quality work.

Current Driver’s License and Passport are required. This position will report to the Manufacturing Operations Manager.

Role Requirements:

  1. Perform electrical and mechanical assemblies using schematics, mechanical drawings, and procedures.
  2. Adhere to all safety protocols.
  3. Ability to follow procedures, documentation, and verbal instructions.
  4. Must be able to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  5. Have a keen eye for quality and attention to detail.
  6. Understanding of electrical principles and standards.
  7. Communication with internal departments to report quality issues and defects.
  8. Able to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues – DC and AC voltages.
  9. Able to use a computer to perform calibration and commissioning tasks of HighRes devices.
  10. Willing to travel for extended periods of time (2-3 weeks internationally, occasionally as much as 8 weeks for training in the U.S. when first hired).
  11. Able to work in confined spaces.
  12. Capable of lifting up to 25kg.
  13. Works proactively with support and cross-functional groups to achieve timely and customer-focused issue resolution.
  14. Complete accurate and timely documentation of support case issues, activities, and resolution.
  15. Assist customers with Pre-SAT issues.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program or apprenticeship program, or 1-3 years of electronics installation and/or maintenance experience.
  2. Great communication skills, oral and written.
  3. Must understand and speak English at a C1 level.
  4. Fluent in German.
  5. Basic Computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
  6. Automation/Robotics background is a plus.
  7. Ability to be personally accountable and still thrive in a team environment.
  8. Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems is a plus.
  9. Knowledge of JIRA is a plus.
