Responsibilities
- Install and service fire alarm systems in commercial buildings to fulfill code requirements for fire protection.
- Conduct thorough acceptance tests of newly installed or retrofitted fire alarm systems.
- Install all materials associated with alarm systems, such as control panels, modules, conduits, wires, and intrusion switches.
- Maintain quality workmanship and document work thoroughly; keep paperwork and reports up to date.
- Build rapport with clients and use relationship-building skills to provide excellent customer service.
- Upsell products and services with clients, aligned with their best interests.
- Respond to system emergencies during regular business hours and on-call rotations as needed.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to ensure timely, accurate completion of tasks.
- Apply specialized skills to help save lives in the community.
Qualifications
- Experience in troubleshooting.
- Experience in the programming of low voltage systems.
- Ability to install fire alarm systems, identify major issues, and complete necessary programming.
- Thorough working knowledge of NFPA 72 regulations, electrical codes, OSHA requirements, general work safety procedures, and other applicable regulations.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to crawl up ladders and work in unusual conditions.
- Valid driver\'s license and a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Ability and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
- Two or more years of experience is preferred; multiple factors will be considered.
Work Schedule
This full-time fire alarm installation and service role typically works the morning shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on Monday through Friday, with participation in an on-call rotation required.
