Job summary

Inuplands is seeking an Installation Technician to lead the professional installation of structured cabling, interactive flat panels, and audio/video gear at client sites across Indiana and neighboring states.

The role requires travel, including overnight stays, strong technical skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship, reporting to the Director of Installation Services.

Qualifications

• Experience installing low-voltage systems (Cat5e/6, fiber, CCTV, access control, AV).
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Install and test low-voltage, CCTV, access control, and AV systems at client sites.
• Travel to multiple client sites, including overnight stays.
• Ensure quality workmanship and timely project completion.
• Collaborate with Installation Services team to complete projects.

Job Description | Installation Technician

The Installation Technician will be responsible for the professional installation of a wide range of structured cabling, interactive flat panels, and audio/video equipment at various client sites. This dynamic role involves travel, including some overnight stays, to deliver exceptional service and intelligently connected environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a dedication to quality workmanship. Installation Technicians will report directly to the Director of Installation Services and play a critical role in the successful completion of our installation projects.

Requirements and Preferences

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

• Low-Voltage Systems Expertise: Proven ability to install, terminate, and test various low-voltage systems, including network cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic), security systems (CCTV, access control), and audio/visual systems
• Blueprint and Diagram Interpretation: Proficient in accurately reading and understanding blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure correct system layout and installation
• Tool Proficiency: Competence in the safe and effective use of a wide range of hand and power tools

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Physical Stamina: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods in diverse environments. This includes standing, kneeling, bending, climbing, and crawling in confined spaces, as well as working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts
• Lifting Capability: Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials, often exceeding 50 pounds
• Manual Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for precise tasks such as cable termination and working with small components
