Job summary

A leading dental technology firm is seeking an Installation Technician in Connecticut. You will provide on-site installation and service of dental technology, requiring a blend of technical skills and mechanical aptitude. Applicants should be graduates from an electronics program and possess basic IT understanding. The role involves regular travel and working hands-on with various dental equipment.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are adding Technicians to deliver excellent customer support and perform on-site installation and service of computers and X-Ray equipment for dental and dental specialty offices. AS AN INSTALL TECH YOU WILL:

Install, Remove and/or Certify Equipment:

• Install panoramic X-ray and cone beam equipment and related computers.
• Calibrate the equipment to ensure high-quality images and optimum performance.
• Test and remove existing equipment for either purchase for recertification or disposal.
• Grow the knowledge of our Trusted Dental Technicians through co-travel certifications and manage 3rd party helpers by assigning and monitoring tasks.
• Conduct performance tests on purchased equipment to ensure proper quality and condition.
• Maintain tools and test equipment properly.
• Have a “handyman acumen” – it is necessary to have the mechanical understanding of construction methods to facilitate the installation of capital equipment, electrical connections, low-voltage connection, and be at ease with using power and hand tools.

Provide Services:

• Deliver on-site or remote technical support for computers and dental imaging equipment.
• Create and maintain necessary technical documentation and procedures.
• Complete required internal, regulatory documentation, and expense reports on time.
• Install, troubleshooting, and configuration of digital systems controlled by 1-2 computer systems connected via ethernet and wireless methods.

Be a resource to our customers:

• Present training to small groups of doctors and dental staff on basic equipment, hardware operations and software training.
• Maintain regular communications with customers and team members to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
• Meet health and human services, environmental health and safety and/or other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Utilize the escalation process to resolve customer service issues and conduct effective root cause analysis that will lead to effective problem solving.
• Work as a member of the team to provide efficient and cost-effective service delivery to all assigned customers.
• Assume added responsibilities as asked.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The Installation Technician must be a problem solver, a critical thinker, highly adaptable, and extremely organized. Working in a diverse environment requires you to have strong business acumen, as well as the ability to solve complex problems and a strong mechanical aptitude. You don’t need to be an expert networking technician, but if surfing the internet and sending email is the extent of your computer skills—and that is your willingness to dig deeper—this job isn’t for you.

Requirements of the position:

• Graduate of electronics/technology program and MSCE or equivalent IT Certification
• Basic skills and comfort level with electrical and electromechanical systems
• Minimum of a Basic IT understanding relative to Operating Systems, networking, etc.
• Understanding of residential and commercial building/construction methods a plus
• Skilled in use of power hand tools, low-voltage and all will help immensely to facilitate the installation of capital equipment into dental offices.
• Experience with installation or service with a minimum of one of the leading market manufacturers of CBCT such as Sirona, Dexis, Instrumentarium, Planmeca, Carestream, Vatech, Axion, and Ray brand.
• Computer networking knowledge and experience desired
• Proximity to major airport.
• Ability to travel 4 nights per week on average. Occasional weekend and holiday travel are needed. Travel is a major focus of this position.
• Traveling with tools and equipment for installation process will be needed.
• Ability to lift over 100 pounds.
• Valid driver license and ability to obtain a passport if travel outside of the US is necessary.
• Prior military experience is welcomed!
