Job summary

AT&T is hiring an Installation Technician to install and activate high-speed broadband, Wi‑Fi, and voice services at customers’ homes or small businesses in Chalmette, LA. You will work independently as a trusted field technician, solving problems and delivering great service daily.

Typical day involves installing equipment, wiring, testing services, and ensuring customers are connected and satisfied. A flexible schedule and safety-conscious approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Lift and move up to 60 lbs.
• Weigh less than 325 lbs., for ladder safety.
• Occasionally work in small spaces or aloft (up to 28 ft).
• Available for overtime and holiday work.
• Identify wire and cable colors.
• Qualify on pre-employment assessment.

Responsibilities

• Install and activate high-speed broadband, Wi-Fi, and voice services at customers’ homes or businesses.
• Work independently as a trusted field technician.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic connectivity issues.
• Meet customers, explain services, and ensure satisfaction.
• Follow safety procedures during ladder work and lifting.

As an Installation Technician, you’ll work independently at our customer’s homes and businesses as a trusted expert, installing the latest technology for high-speed broadband, Wi-Fi, and voice services. Whether you’re putting in a new line, climbing a ladder or simply plugging in and activating a wifi network, one thing is true, no two days will be the same.

Our Installation Technicians earn between $17.26 and$31.00 an hour. Our average starting salary is $64,480 per year. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers.

• Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Possess a valid state driver’s license
• Lift and move up-to 60 lbs – some of our ladders weigh 50-60 lbs
