Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced technician to service, install, and upgrade automated storefront doors at customer sites. You will follow manufacturer procedures, document job details, and maintain safety standards during all activities.

The role requires diagnosing electro-mechanical devices, working with low-voltage wiring, and lifting door components up to 110 pounds. A valid driver’s license and AAADM certification are essential, with on-call rotations after training.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience of direct industry, storefront door installation, or relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum age requirement of 21 due to job-related responsibilities
  • Must be able to successfully obtain AAADM certification within six months of employment and maintain certification as required
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in repairing electro-mechanical devices
  • Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low-voltage (120v) wiring
  • Experience in glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames, and hardware preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • High commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and teamwork
  • Ability to lift, bend, and use power tools effectively
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, positioning, and installing door components weighing up to 110 pounds with lifting aids
  • Ability to climb ladders, kneel, drive, and work in various positions as required

Responsibilities

  • Wear and maintain required personal protection equipment
  • Perform planned maintenance, break-fix repair, and upgrades of automated pedestrian doors at customer locations
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electro‑mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and relay logic
  • Work with aluminum frames, glazing materials, hardware, and low‑voltage wiring
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, end-users, and contractors
  • Participate in training programs
  • Participate in on‑call rotations after certification and training
