Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems in Austell, GA is seeking an Installation Technician to diagnose, install, and service sliding, swinging, and rotating doors. You will follow manufacturer procedures, document work, and maintain safety standards while delivering reliable door solutions for customers.

The role requires 3-5 years of door installation experience, AAADM certification within 6 months, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 110 pounds.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of storefront/door installation experience.
• AAADM certification within six months of employment.
• Mechanical aptitude with electro-mechanical repair experience.
• Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low-voltage wiring.
• Experience with glazing, aluminum frames, and hardware is preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and installation per manufacturers’ procedures and specs.
• Document time, issues, shortages, and on-site conditions clearly.
• Work safely to protect yourself and others on-site.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
• Maintain communication with customers and contractors, delivering excellent service.
• Participate in training and on-call rotations after certification.

You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade a variety of sliding, swinging, and rotating doors while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.**Key Responsibilities:*** Perform service and installation in accordance with manufacturers’ recommended installation procedures and specifications.* Document time spent and complete proper documentation detailing any problems, shortages and inefficiencies in job-site conditions.* Perform all work in a safe manner for prevention of accidents to themselves, co-workers, contractors on-site and the general public and property of all concerned.* Wear and maintain any/all Personal Protection Equipment when necessary.* Perform planned maintenance, break-fix repair, and upgrades of automated pedestrian doors at customer locations.* Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving electro-mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and relay logic.* Work with aluminum frames, glazing materials, hardware, and low-voltage wiring.* Maintain professional communication with customers, end-users, and contractors, providing exceptional service at every interaction.* Participate in training programs* Participate in on-call rotations after certification and training.**Safety**Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, positioning, and installing door components weighing up to 110 pounds (with lifting aids) on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation; climbing ladders, kneeling, driving and working in various positions as required.**What You Will Need:*** 3-5 years’ experience of direct industry, store front door installation or relevant industry experience, Storefront, Glazing, Doors, Aluminium Frames, Electrical, Glass, Automatic Doors, Hardware etc.* Must meet the minimum age requirement of 21 due to job‐related responsibilities* Must be able to successfully obtain AAADM certification within six (6) months of employmentand maintain certification as required* Mechanical aptitude with experience in repairing electro-mechanical devices.* Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and low-voltage (120v) wiring (access control systems a plus).* Experience in glazing, storefronts, aluminum frames, and hardware (preferred).* Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.* High commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.* Ability to lift, bend, and use power tools effectively.**What We Offer:****Comprehensive Benefits*** Health, dental, and vision plans* 401(k) with company matching* Short- and long-term disability, life, and accidental insurance* 15 PTO days and 11 paid holidays**Work-Life Balance*** On-call responsibilities only after adequate training**Ongoing Training & Recognition*** Continuous learning opportunities, including AAADM certification.* Length of Service awards to celebrate your milestones.**Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:**ASSA ABLOY fosters a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and included.
