The Installation & Service Technician will be primarily involved with the installation, service and preventative maintenance of Handicare products throughout the U.S. This individual will be called upon to perform site surveys and installation audits. Whenever possible, the work performed by the individual would be billable against a particular revenue‑generating project. Occasionally, based on available service and installation workload, the technician may perform other duties as assigned in other areas of the business such as production, assembly and distribution.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; preferably in building construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing methods.
Proficiency in Windows applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.
The employee may frequently stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel or crouch during the shift. Employee will be required to regularly use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to regularly lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 lbs.
The Installation position can travel approximately 25% of the time depending on regional needs. Must be able to commit to overnight travel for extended periods of time.
This position works in an environment with loud noise levels. The position may frequently work near moving parts, be exposed to vibration and be exposed to airborne particles & dust. The position will occasionally work in high, precarious places and be exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
