Goodhart Sons, Inc. is seeking a Project Estimator/Coordinator to support nationwide installations from Lancaster, PA. You will assist in bidding, prepare proposals, coordinate with subs and vendors, and help project managers drive schedules and budgets.

The role requires a 2-year degree or higher, at least two years related experience, strong CAD knowledge, and fluency with mechanical blueprints. A valid driver's license and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Description

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist in the Estimate of projects during the bidding phase. Make site visits with customer
• Write and release proposals, contracts and purchase orders to customers, subcontractors and vendors.
• Coordinate with subcontractors; with estimate pricing, scheduling of projects and the interaction of our crew and customer.
• Setup pre-job meeting with the customer to review project timeline and scope and clarify customer expectations.
• Provide a scope of work and direction to our Project Managers and Foreman during kick- off meetings.
• Based on project size, project management duties to include; procure material, setup vendor accounts, produce bills of material, approval of invoices, provide a tool list for the project to Tool Room Manager, setup freight with our traffic department for tools and equipment to jobsites order rental equipment, etc. all according to predetermined schedules. Also monitor all phases of projects to ensure alignment with budgets and estimates, making team aware of issues, coordinating adjustments to achieve projected objectives.

Other Functions:

• Attend and actively participate in Project Manager and project kick-off meetings. Assist with meeting minutes as requested.
• Assist the President of Installation, Installation Project Managers and Salespeople in the preparation of quotations, in the resolving cost additions and providing an understanding of scope gaps.
• Assist the President of Installation in cost projections of projects.
• Assist the Fabrication Project Managers in the production and scheduling of fabrication items if needed during the installation process.

Machines/Tools/Equipment:

May need to operate typical office equipment, such as a computer, copier, printer, and calculator.

Working Conditions:

A mixture of a controlled office, shop and warehouse environment with varying year-round temperatures. Occasional travel by vehicle and by airplane in and out of country; with work at construction job sites, during all stages, in all types of weather conditions.

May need to perform activities requiring use of arms and legs, including climbing ladders/scaffolding, lifting & handling materials, walking & balancing, stooping.

Must be able to speak & understand detailed information through oral communication and be able to see clearly and recognize small details.

• Understanding or has a relationship with industry vendors
• Preferred requirements:
  • Schooling at 2 year tech or 4 year BS degree
  • 2 years of experience working in a mechanical engineering department.
  • AA or BS degree in engineering or computer aided drafting/design or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with a CAD software program. Proficient with AutoCAD and Inventor 2012 or higher.

Summary

Position with primary responsibility for the coordination of assigned projects throughout the country, assisting the President of Installation Operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assist in the estimating of projects, , procurement of material and rental equipment, interaction with and liaison between the company and customer, ensuring that the project is completed according to specification and quality standards and profit projections.
