Reports to the VP of Operations; responsibilities include on-site leadership, logistics planning, team training, and maintaining professional standards while ensuring client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret installation drawings.

  • Willingness to learn new technology, equipment, and processes.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Job description

RJE has an opening for an installation manager for our Indianapolis office. As an installation manager, you are responsible for leading installation teams in the field, coordinating closely with project managers, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to customer expectations.

Reports to: vp of operations

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Carpentry or related construction background with experience in a commercial environment preferred.
  • Perform work while consistently demonstrating a detailed level of technical knowledge; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
  • Mechanically inclined, possesses tools for installation of furniture.
  • Able to lead by example (i.e. punctuality, strong work ethic, enthusiasm, company loyalty and compliance to company standards).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willing to learn new technology, equipment, and construction processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Capacity to manage on-site work and coordinate with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to read and interpret installation drawings.
  • Trustworthy, ethical, and professional.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Lead and oversee furniture installation teams in all field activities.
  • Partner closely with project managers early and throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful installations.
  • Coordinate installation logistics including access, staging, sequencing, staffing, and site constraints.
  • Ensure installation plans are fully understood and executed according to project scope.
  • Train, coach, and hold installation team members accountable to standards and expectations.
  • Unload, stage, install, move, reconfigure, repair, and troubleshoot furniture.
  • Perform and guide special applications such as wall mounting, leveling, structural connections, and field modifications.
  • Plan and manage materials, tools, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Maintain job site cleanliness, safety, and professionalism at all times.
  • Serve customers by delivering a high-quality installation experience.
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with internal teams, clients, vendors, and general contractors.
  • Build trust by making sound field decisions aligned with company values.
  • Support relationships across departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Demonstrate accountability by owning field outcomes and resolving issues promptly.
  • Foster a positive, team-focused environment that reflects pride, excellence, and joy in work.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Khaki work pants, work boots, and required PPE.
  • Full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and lift materials throughout the workday.
