Job summary

Douron a Division of TSRC, Inc. is seeking an Installation Lead to guide on-site installation teams, coordinate loading and unloading, and ensure professional workmanship while maintaining customer spaces.

This role acts as the on-site foreman, collaborates with the crew, follows safety protocols, and ensures timely, accurate delivery and installation of office furniture and fixtures.

Job description

The Installation Lead is responsible for leading installation teams, delivering materials to client sites, and efficient, professional workmanship on site installing furniture and fixtures. This position acts as the on-site foreman to the team, leading by example with strong tool skills, great customer service, and excellent policy adherence. The Installation Lead works alongside the crew, coordinating the loading and unloading of trucks, leading the assembly and installation of office furniture, overseeing careful and responsible interaction with client spaces, and keeping the team on task. The Installation Lead is also responsible for the safe and timely transportation of team members, equipment, and goods to and from client sites.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS

• Ensures all office furniture and fixtures, including systems furniture, case goods, accessories, and wall-hung units, are installed effectively, efficiently, and with high customer satisfaction
• Accurately pulls, prepares, and stages product and materials; assembles and levels furniture according to manufacturer instructions
• Performs basic installation functions, such as carrying and lifting, crating or uncrating product, assembling panels and components, cleaning and detailing, installing locks, etc.
• Collects, checks, and loads all the day's orders listed on daily project manifest
  • Checks and loads all outgoing project materials
  • Ensures load is secure and cannot shift or fall in transit
  • Audits any outgoing orders and requests changes as necessary
  • Marks any issues and reports to management
• Delivers all outgoing product to clients and handles open pick-up requests
• Ensures the crew is safely at the client site in a timely manner
• Receives calls from the Douron team and makes accommodations for special requests as necessary
• Processes all customer returns and undelivered items daily
• Reports any undelivered orders and pick-up issues to Installation Manager
• Maintains up-to-date vehicle checklist and reports concerns to management
• Maintains a safe and clean vehicle and working environment by complying with policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Understands all company safety guidelines and protocols outlined in the Safety Handbook
  • Follows up on vehicle maintenance and inspections according to federal, state, and company guidelines
• Inspects product thoroughly for concealed damages and reports any findings according to company procedure
• Carefully handles, lifts, carries, loads, secures, and unloads materials, products, and tools on and off box trucks between storage locations and client worksites
• Mindfully shows care at worksites, including responsible treatment of client property and facilities:
  • Ensures a professional finish at worksites by reasonably tidying, cleaning, and picking up debris;
  • Cleans and wipes down all product, empties drawers (except instructions for customer), and removes tape and packing materials;
  • Ensures no damage to client property or goods, whether item is preexisting or part of installation;
  • Participates in a tidy workspace by removing trash, obstacles, and hazards throughout the workday;
  • Confirms no product, materials, or tools are unintentionally left behind at worksite
• Maintains and uses company equipment appropriately, responsibly, and safely without damage or loss
• Uses safe and careful carrying and transportation techniques at all times, especially while carrying on stairs or performing a team lift
• Reviews upcoming assigned projects and make appropriate preparations in advance, including coordinating with the installation team, communicating with the company schedulers, and ensuring the truck is loaded with the needed product and equipment
• Clearly communicates with the installation team, delegating tasks and guiding procedure
• Acts as the on-site point-of-contact for the customer during the installation
• Verifies other installers' work each day to ensure quality
• Appropriately wraps and secures all product to minimize the risk of damage
• Collects supporting materials as needed, such as pictures for warranty claims or client signatures
• Informs Installation Manager of any personnel updates or concerns
• Maintains compliance with all company guidelines and company established standards
• Maintains clear and timely communication with management, including updates and concerns
• Builds a familiarity with the company's product, including brands, specifications, finishes, and descriptions
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education, Certifications, and/or Licenses:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Valid DOT medical card
• CDL credentials if needed for the type of vehicles assigned to the route
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

• 1 year's experience in a responsible or lead role strongly preferred
• 6 months' experience driving a box truck strongly preferred
• 6 months' experience in an installation or construction role preferred
• Experience in wholesale workspace furniture industry a plus

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of safe use of tools and equipment
• Knowledge of driving in a commercial environment, including procedures and vehicle maintenance
• Proficiency with basic math skills
• Ability to read measurements, installation instructions, and furniture layouts
• Ability to work irregular hours, extended shifts, and weekends as needed
• Possesses consistent access to reliable transportation that can accommodate varying start times
• Proficiency with PCs and basic computer software
• Ability to exchange information with others and understand and following directions
• Ability to be attentive to details
• Ability to work fully in person

While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works in a fast-paced, noisy, non-temperature-controlled environment, varying between internal warehouse environments, delivery vehicles, outdoors, and internal/external customer locations.
