$50,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr

About the Position:

Are you a customer-focused, self-starter, with strong technical skills? We are seeking an experienced installation & field service technician to join our team in Houston, Texas.

Description:

Galvo and Flatbed - Co2 and Fiber Laser Machinery. Provides onsite repairs and technical training as well as technical support via phone, email and other electronic communication between customers and sales staff. This position requires frequent travel within the US. This is a direct hire position, and pay will be based on relevant experience. Qualified candidates can interview and start immediately.

You will be required to be onsite 2 days per week at our location in Houston - 505 N Sam Houston Pkwy E, Houston, TX 77060. You must be able to commute to this location periodically.

New Hire Training will take place one week in Arlington TX and one week in Plymouth MI at the company's expense. You must be able to travel to these locations when you start employment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Interact professionally with customers.
  • Use visual clues, computer programs, diagnostic tools to diagnose machine difficulties.
  • Apply electrical and electronic knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as applications, sales, and customer service.
  • Submit organized and detailed service reports for each repair.
  • Assist in developing or updating technical documentation.
  • Work independently in compliance with safety standards.
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds without aid.
  • Diagnose system problems and advise on operational or repair issues via onsite visit, email, phone, or other electronic communication.
  • Perform effectively under high-pressure situations.
  • Provide operational, applications, and maintenance training to customers.
  • Install and configure hardware and software upgrades.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Knowledge of laser systems (CO2 and/or fiber).
  • Proficiency in graphic design and CAD/CAM software such as Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, Alpha CAM, Master CAM, or similar.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Promptly respond to support emails and calls.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and attentive to detail.
Experience/Education:

Associates degree or technical school certification in engineering principles or a suitable combination of education and work experience. Experience in software, electronics, digital circuits, wiring, mechanics is beneficial. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean record.
