Job summary

Young Electric Sign Company in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking an Installation Apprentice to assist installation journeymen with lifting and setting up signs, loading tools, and preparing job sites under close supervision.

You will help install lights and electrical service, maintain clean, safe work areas, and follow all safety guidelines while coordinating with leads and apprentices to complete projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 1+ years of construction experience.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple activities to meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and customers.
• Willingness to work independently and maintain regular attendance.
• Experience with power tools and electrical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with lift, set-up and take-down of signs.
• Stock truck with required tools.
• Assist with installation of lights and electrical service.
• Clean up job sites.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under close supervision of the Service & Install Supervisor or Lead, helps Installation Journeymen and Apprentices lift and set-up of signs and other support functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with lift and set-up and take-down of signs
• Assesses and stocks truck with what tools are needed
• Assists with installation of lights and electrical service
• Cleans up job sites
• Follows all safety guidelines and regulations

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cleans, stocks and maintains equipment
• Digs holes for sign supports
• Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned

NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS

Interacts with installation journeyman, apprentices and leads

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• A High School Diploma or GED and one or more years of relevant experience involving demonstrated abilities in construction including power tools and electrical experience; or any combination of training, education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills.

• Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writing
