Job summary

Verizon is seeking technicians to install, splice, test, repair and maintain our fiber-optic network infrastructure to keep millions connected. You will join a team that operates safely and efficiently, interpreting engineering plans and vendor specifications while handling equipment at various locations.

Required include a valid driver's license and readiness to work evenings and weekends; a related associate degree or Verizon Technician Program is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Related Associate Degree or 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Completed Verizon Technician Program or similar programs covering electrical or lineman training.

Responsibilities

• Connect, disconnect, test, repair, maintain company and customer equipment, inside wiring, and cables at poles, underground or building terminals.
• Prepare for splicing, rearranging and terminating cable conductors.
• Install, repair, maintain, and test access lines for all equipment and technology.
• Operate trucks and equipment needed to perform work operations safely.
• Read and interpret engineering plans and vendor specifications.
• Climb ladders and poles; distinguish wire colors and audio tones.
• Work evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as needed.

What you'll be doing...

Installing, splicing, testing, repairing and maintaining the technology that keeps millions of customers connected. Be part of a team that makes a profound impact every single day by ensuring that our fiber-optic network performs reliably. Because here, better matters.Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Connecting, disconnecting, testing, repairing, maintaining, installing and rearranging Company and customer-provided equipment, inside wiring, and wires at poles, underground or building terminals.

• Making necessary preparations required for splicing, rearranging and terminating cable conductors.

• Installing, repairing, maintaining, and testing access lines for all types of equipment and technology.

• Operating trucks and equipment needed to perform work operations in a safe manner.

• Reading and interpreting engineering plans and vendor specifications.

• Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, perceiving differences in wire and cable colors, and distinguishing audio tones.

• Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.
