Allegion in Elgin, IL is seeking an Install Technician to install or service automatic doors. You will record time, maintain equipment, and ensure safety and quality on every job.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, ability to lift 75–100 lbs, and strong oral and written communication. The role may require nights or weekends and offers comprehensive benefits.

• Perform installation or service work as designated in a profitable and proper manner.

• Perform preventive maintenance per service program for specific customer.
• Maintain all work records and parts used per procedure.
• Keep updated on changes to Stanley equipment and ANSI 156.10 standards.
• Maintain manuals and details as changes are advised.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools and other property.
• Present neat and clean appearance per company policies.
• Maintain adequate parts inventory and inventory log.
• Test equipment before leaving job site; perform safety check.
• Maintain good customer relations and service.
• Assist and instruct others in install/service methods.

What You Will Do:

• Perform installation or service work as designated in profitable and proper manner. Record productive time versus travel time.
• Perform preventive maintenance work in accordance with service program designated for specific customer.
• Maintain accurately all work records and parts used at each job in accordance with established procedure.
• Keep updated on all changes/modifications to Stanley equipment and Ansi156.10 standard as notified through published communications.
• Keep manuals and all details up to date as changes are advised.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools and other property in proper manner.
• Present neat and clean appearance personally and in workmanship, in accordance with company policies.
• Maintain adequate parts inventory for service vehicle; keep inventory log.
• Test equipment before leaving job site; perform safety check.
• Maintain good customer relations and customer service.
• Assist and instruct others in install/service methods.

What You Need to Succeed:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid state driver’s license without restrictions.
• Ability to lift 75-100lbs.
• Excellent Oral & Written communication skills.
• Sitting while driving for periods of time up to 2 hours but not limited to.
• Standing on concrete for periods of time up to 8 hours but not limited to.
• Stooping, Crouching, Kneeling, Crawling, and twisting spine occasionally.
• Vision not limited to near, far or colors.
• Ability to work in various climates.
• Flexible work schedule is a must with the ability to work nights and/or weekends as necessary.

Additional Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

• Prior experience in the construction industry or electrical field
• Prior experience servicing automated doors, glazing, installing glass, installing door frames, building door frames, reading blueprints, AAADM Certification

Compensation:

The expected Base Hourly Range: $34.25-$57.08 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
