Tommy’s Express is seeking an Install Specialist to support Engineering, Install Coordination, Production, and field crews with process improvements and implementation.

The role links the field with internal teams, ensuring installations are performed consistently, efficiently, and with continuous improvement. It involves travel to sites and collaboration across departments to optimize equipment deployment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years of on-site car wash equipment installation experience or equivalent.
• Strong collaborator with ability to communicate across departments.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as central point of contact for recurring install issues and improvement opportunities.
• Gather field feedback and document equipment concerns, assembly challenges, and installation obstacles for internal teams.
• Track open issues, establish ownership and next steps, and communicate progress to crews.
• Coordinate with R&D on install-related innovations, testing, and approval.
• Ensure install teams understand approved changes to equipment packages and procedures.
• Evaluate and review install work orders to maintain proper procedures and checklists.
• Travel to installation sites as needed to observe practices and support crews.
• Conduct quarterly travel to stay current with install processes and updates.
• Assist with Tommy Direct Service maintenance work.
• Other duties as assigned; may change at any time.

Install Specialist

Tommy’s is looking for an Install Specialist to assist Engineering, Install Coordination, Production, and on-site installers with process improvements and implementation. This role serves as a key link between the field and internal teams, keeping equipment installations consistent, efficient, and continuously improving.

Position Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and review install work orders to help maintain proper procedures, checklists, and consistency.
• Work with Production to identify changes in process or assembly builds that benefit install teams working remotely.
• Travel to installation sites as needed to observe current practices, support crews, and validate improvements.
• Conduct quarterly travel to stay current with install processes and updates.
• Assist with conducting Tommy Direct Service maintenance work.

Position Qualifications & Candidate Attributes:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of on-site car wash equipment installation experience or equivalent.
• Process-oriented and strong collaborator with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and across various departments
• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize workload

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This position operates dually in a warehouse environment and a professional office environment, with regular travel to installation and job sites. Warehouse operating hours are 6:00am - 5:00pm and office hours are 8:00am - 5:0pm. This role routinely uses standard office and warehouse equipment; travel is primarily local during the business day, with some out-of-town travel expected to support install teams and test equipment.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, team member must be able to:

• Work and commute in all weather conditions
• Travel primarily local during the business day, with some out-of-town travel to visit installs and job sites
• Work in a fast-paced environment where they will often be multitasking
• Able to effectively communicate, listen, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself and exchange information
• Move about inside the office and warehouse
• Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time if needed
• Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as keyboard, copy machine and printer
• Move and lift equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
