Job summary

Apex Plumbing Solutions, Inc. is hiring a skilled plumber to join our Lexington team. You will read blueprints, install and repair water supply and drainage systems, and ensure gas and DWV installations meet safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have plumbing experience in residential/commercial settings.
• Hold a valid Kentucky Journeyman license or actively pursuing licensure.
• Experience reading blueprints and following safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings to plan layouts.
• Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes.
• Install and maintain water supply systems.
• Locate and repair leaks in water lines.
• Repair drainage lines and fixtures.
• Install gas lines and waste disposal systems.
• Maintain DWV systems and appliances.

Job Duties:

• Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal, and water supply systems
• Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g., electrical wiring)
• Install and maintain water supply systems
• Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g., leaks)
• Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, etc.
• Repair domestic appliances (e.g. washing machines) and fixtures (e.g. sinks) etc.
• Install and maintain gas lines
• Install waste disposal and sanitary systems with well-functioning DWV systems

Skills:

• Proven experience as a plumber
• Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
• Working knowledge of drains, water lines, and ventilation systems as well as appliances
• Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers, etc.)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly with a great deal of patience
• Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward spaces
• Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship
• Valid license to practice profession

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
• Valid Kentucky Journeyman plumbing license
• 2+ years of experience in plumbing
• Ability to operate and maintain various types of equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and find effective solutionsGood communication skills with clients and other team members
• Knowledge of safety protocols and practices to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment
• Precision and attention to detail
