Job summary

Install Journeyman – Full Time – Denver, Colorado

Job Title: Install Journeyman

Job Type: Full time

Location: Denver, Colorado

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Reviews blueprints, identifies and prepares necessary materials and supplies for sign installation.
  • Determines layout and installation procedures, measures and marks guidelines to be used for installations.
  • Drives trucks to transport sign materials to installation sites and loads and unloads trucks with supplies and equipment.
  • Assembles and installs products utilizing hand and power tools, operating heavy equipment; may require scaffolding erection and other work platforms.
  • Performs maintenance and repair to existing signs.
  • Completes paperwork for installations and service work.
  • Follows all safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Obtains completed work sign‑off from customers.
Marginal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Cleans and maintains equipment.
  • Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned.
Training & Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED and six or more years of relevant experience involving construction, welding, heavy equipment operation, crane and forklift operation, power tools, electrical experience, and reading blueprints and work orders.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work activities to meet critical deadlines, working independently.
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone, and in writing.
  • Proficiency with computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical installation (NEC codes, etc.) and LED lighting and signaling systems.
  • Excellent basic math skills.
  • Strong work ethic with an enthusiastic, positive attitude, and the highest level of integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills and maintained regular and timely attendance.
  • Valid Class B CDL license.
  • Credit NCCCO crane certification a plus.
  • Welding certifications (3G, 4G).
  • Physical ability to climb, crawl, bend, lift 50 pounds and operate heavy equipment.
Physical/Sensory Demands

The work environment involves working outdoors, driving to site locations, sitting or standing for long periods, using computers, welding, handling tools, amphibious tasks. The employee regularly must:

  • sit or stand for long periods;
  • use computer to enter data, weld, use telephone to converse with customers, staff, and other departments;
  • perform repetitive wrist, hand, and/or finger movement;
  • talk, feel the attributes of objects, grasp, push, and reach with arms or hands;
  • maintain clear vision at 20 inches or more and adjust eye focus as needed.
