Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges is seeking a part-time Coach II to develop youth gymnasts across technical and personal growth areas. You will plan safe practices, provide feedback, and foster positive engagement with families and staff.

The role emphasizes safety, YMCA policies, and continuous improvement through character development and teamwork within a supportive youth sports environment.

Qualifications

• Current certification in instruction for Gymnastics preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years prior experience in Gymnastics coaching.
• Certifications: CPR, AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration (required within 30 days of hire)

Responsibilities

• Instructs a group of youth participants in accordance with YMCA guidelines and having prepared practice plans accordingly; while maintaining constant surveillance of all program participants emphasizing safety.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with participants and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.
• Provides positive, encouraging and specific feedback on a regular basis with regard to technique.
• Uses teachable moments to discuss character development and provides constructive feedback during practice session using positive motivation techniques.
• Communicates information to parents in a positive and supportive manner.
• Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
