Scoot Education is seeking a Substitute Teacher for NE & NW Washington DC. You will supervise and support students in classrooms, playgrounds, or cafeterias, following any lesson plans left by the teacher.

The role is paid hourly, with direct deposit and W-2 employment. Training opportunities, background check reimbursements, 401(k) enrollment after eligibility, and a referral program are offered to support your professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits is required.
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor.
• State & federal background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment; encourage student engagement throughout the day.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Communicate clearly with school staff.
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.
