BASIS ED in Baton Rouge invites qualified candidates to join our substitute pool in the Baton Rouge Metro Area. The Assistant Teacher role supports classroom teaching and can substitute as needed, helping you learn BASIS Charter School methods while preparing for future full-time teaching roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is required.
• Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory state background check.
• Ability to work full time.
• Willingness to take NES Elementary Education Assessment, if necessary.
• Willingness to be considered for other campuses.
• Willingness to acquire BASIS teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Classroom teaching, both part-time and as a substitute.
• Assisting teachers with classroom management.
• Student academic support and tutoring.
• Assisting with events, labs, and testing.
• Working with teachers to evaluate student progress, needs, gains.
• Proctoring assessments.
• Monitoring Early Bird/Late Bird and Lunch Monitor duties.
• Assisting Deans and Directors of Student Affairs with behavior management.
• Helping with key program delivery.
