Job summary
Franklin Township School District is seeking a Leave Replacement Special Education Elementary Teacher for a 10-month assignment at MacAfee Road Elementary School, September 2026 through December 2026.
The role requires NJ K-6 Elementary Certification and Teacher of Students with Disabilities, with experience supporting students with emotional/behavioral challenges in a self-contained classroom focused on Language Arts, Math and Social Studies; strong classroom management and communication skills
Qualifications
- NJ Certification required: K-6 Elementary Certificate and Teacher of Students with Disabilities OR Teacher of the Handicapped
- Experience with students with emotional/behavioral challenges and learning differences
- Strong teaching skills with dedication to a self-contained classroom for Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
- Successful Criminal History Clearance
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization
Responsibilities
- Provide daily instruction for students in accordance with Board approved curriculum.
- Teach in a self-contained classroom for Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies.
- Maintain a positive learning environment and strong classroom management.
