Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals with clear objectives for all lessons.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable for students' needs and location constraints.
• Strives to implement district philosophy and instructional goals in instruction and action.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports as required.
• Maintains records as required by law and policy.
• Assists administration in enforcing policies and student life rules.
• Makes provisions to be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when needed.
• Plans and supervises assignments for aides/volunteers and evaluates their performance.
• Maintains professional competence and attends staff meetings.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
