Job summary

Falls Church City Public Schools is seeking a substitute to provide instruction in the absence of classroom teachers or paraprofessionals. You will implement lesson plans, maintain routines, and support student progress in a respectful, professional manner.

You will report to the principal, interact with students and parents, monitor behavior, and complete a brief daily written report. This role requires a high school diploma and prior experience with children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; some college credits preferred.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Ability to implement lesson plans and maintain classroom routines.

Responsibilities

• Attend to students in the absence of the teacher or paraprofessional.
• Implement existing lesson plans and maintain academic time.
• Maintain routines and procedures of the classroom.
• Follow provided lesson plans and interact professionally with students and parents.
• Monitor and promote student progress while maintaining confidentiality.
• Oversee student behavior in various settings and report daily activities.
