Diocese of Joliet Catholic Schools in Morris, Illinois, seeks a full-time 8th grade homeroom teacher and 7th/8th grade math/science for the 2026-2027 school year at Immaculate Conception School.

The teacher, a ministerial employee, will support Catholic teachings, deliver instruction, attend meetings, collaborate with parents, and use technology to enhance student learning while upholding the school’s religious mission.

Qualifications

• Holds a current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or valid out-of-state certificate with reciprocity.
• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field applicable to the teaching assignment.
• Catholic faith background preferred; position may require teaching religion/theology.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in assigned subjects, guiding learning and adjusting levels to needs.
• Attend faculty meetings, in-service training, and participate in professional development.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and collaborate with the principal.
• Use technology to enhance student learning and maintain classroom discipline.
• Supervise students before, during, and after school as needed.

Education

Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or valid out-of-state reciprocal certificate

Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related discipline

Practicing Catholic preferred but required to teach religion/theology
