Job summary

Hampshire County Schools is seeking a Mathematics Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at the middle school level. The incumbent will provide instruction aligned with WV standards, plan and implement core and supplemental programs, and collaborate with staff to support student achievement.

The role requires a valid WV teaching certificate, ability to work with diverse learners, and commitment to professional responsibilities per district policies.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specializations and grade levels, pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2; Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate; Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data and plan academic support
• Collaborate with other professional staff to enhance instruction
• Responsible for planning and implementing WV academic standards, content, and objectives
• Responsible for implementing adopted and supplemental academic programs
• Responsible for implementing technology skills
• Responsible for planning and implementing inclusion with special education students
• Responsible for student achievement
• Responsible for planning and implementing co-teaching as appropriate
• Responsible for planning and implementing designated co-curricular activities and/or programs at the school such as curricular fairs, awards programs, and field trips
• Responsible for administering formative assessments
• Responsible for planning and implementing personalized learning
• Communicate with students, parents, and peers in an efficient manner
• Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning
• Address and implement students’ IEPs and 504 Plans and recommends revisions when needed
• Meet professional responsibilities
• Maintain professional work habits and adhere to the Teacher Code of Conduct
• Implement any other programs designated by principal for school improvement
• Includes supervisory and/or other duties as assigned by Principal
