Cross Country Education is seeking an itinerant Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support high school students across multiple Palatine, IL campuses. The role focuses on access to instruction, communication accommodations, and collaboration with educators and families.

Qualified candidates hold a valid IL PEL with TDHH endorsement and have experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing high school students. The position offers a 35-hour workweek and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, Deaf Education, or a related field.
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Teacher of Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (TDHH) endorsement.
• Experience providing specialized instruction or support to high school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Responsabilités

• Provide specialized instruction to high school Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across multiple campuses.
• Act as itinerant TDHH teacher, adapting instruction and accommodations to meet communication and academic needs.
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers, families, interpreters, and multidisciplinary teams to support IEP goals.
• Monitor student progress and advise on hearing-related accommodations and access.
