Job summary

The DeKalb County School District is seeking a motivated Area High School Head Coach for Track and Field at Southwest DeKalb High School for the 2026-2027 season. The ideal candidate should have a passion for coaching and working with high school students.

Responsibilities include assisting in game strategies, maintaining athletic equipment, and ensuring safety protocols. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma, coaching experience, and necessary certifications. This is a temporary position renewed annually.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience and knowledge of coaching sports preferred.
• Georgia High School Association Lay Coaching Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of the Principal and Head Coach.
• Assist the Head Coach in game techniques and strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of first aid techniques.
• Maintain locker room and playing facilities.
