Responsibilities

• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
• Prepare for assigned classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Establish and maintain standards of classroom behavior and encourage students to meet these expectations.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and set clear lesson objectives.
• Employ varied instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Strive to implement district philosophy and instructional goals.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Participate in programs supporting student achievement on state assessments.
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain records as required by law and policy.
• Assist administration with policies governing student life and conduct.
• Supervise student behavior in all areas of the building.
• Make yourself available to students and parents outside instructional hours.
• Plan and supervise teacher aides and volunteers and evaluate their performance.
• Maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attend staff meetings and district activities per policy and contract.

Education
