Esperanza Academy Charter School in Philadelphia is seeking an Environmental Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. You will design rigorous, standards-aligned lessons, differentiate materials, and expose students to scientific inquiry and STEM career paths, in a diverse, mission-driven community.

This full-time position supports growth through collaboration with staff, data-driven instruction, family engagement, and ongoing professional development, all while aligning with Pennsylvania

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Education, or related field from an accredited college.
• PA Teaching Certification in General Science (7-12) and/or Biology (7-12) before start date.
• Official transcripts showing the degree conferred are required before the starting date of employment.
• Experience teaching Biology and General Science at the K-12 level is preferred.
• Clearances: FBI, PA Criminal, and Child Abuse background checks.

Responsabilités

• Design and deliver standards-aligned science lessons and differentiate curricular materials to ensure all students can access high-quality instruction.
• Foster a positive, inquiry-based, and culturally responsive classroom environment.
• Teach students to apply scientific reasoning, develop hypotheses, analyze data, and conduct experiments.
• Differentiate instruction and curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs, including English Learners and students with IEP/504 plans.
• Incorporate STEM applications, laboratory experiments, and real-world problem-solving into daily instruction.
• Collaborate with student support staff, counselors, and special education teams to support the whole child.
• Use student data and formative assessments to refine instruction and ensure scientific growth for all students.
• Engage families as partners in student success through open and proactive communication.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practice.
