Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Alabama teaching certificate in the designated grade level/subject area.
• Ability to meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
• Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills for working with diverse groups.
• Ability to develop and implement curriculum for designated grades/subjects.
• Ability to use technology to communicate, plan instruction, and manage data.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision and priorities.
• Demonstrates knowledge of child development and characteristics of the age group.
• Implements best instructional practices to meet learning objectives.
• Uses technology to plan instruction and facilitate learning.
• Models and integrates technology in classroom activities.
• Maintains safe and orderly learning environment.
• Provides instruction and modifications for diverse learners, including ELL and exceptional education students.
• Manages time and administration tasks efficiently.
• Instructs and supervises student teachers, volunteers, and paraprofessionals when assigned.
• Uses assessments to monitor progress and inform instructional planning.
• Communicates progress to students, parents, and colleagues.
• Maintains confidential information appropriately.
• Participates in evaluation programs and school activities.
• Supervises students during duties before/during/after school.
• Supports extracurricular activities as assigned.
