Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
• Meets State of Michigan PD requirements.
• Experience with Balanced Literacy and math curriculum.
• Able to work in diverse, collaborative teams.
• EL certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers elementary curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Creates safe, engaging learning environments for individual and small-group instruction.
• Plans lessons and materials to maximize instructional time.
• Differentiates instruction for diverse learners.
• Assesses and reports student progress and records.
• Instructs citizenship and subject matters per laws and district policy.
• Engages in ongoing professional development.
• Maintains accurate records of grades and attendance.
• Encourages parental involvement and effective communication.
• Maintains pupil behavior standards.
• Collaborates with staff to evaluate curriculum.
• Requisitions books and supplies; maintains inventory.
• Supervises students during activities and transportation.
• Administers standardized tests per district programs.
• Maintains regular attendance.
