BARNSTABLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS invites applications for a Physical Education/Health Teacher for Barnstable United Elementary School and West Villages Elementary. This (.8 BVUES .2 WVES) position begins immediately, reporting to the Principal.

Candidates must hold appropriate PE certification and degree(s) and show commitment to student growth and safety. The role requires effective planning, classroom management, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Possess appropriate certification and degree(s).
• Knowledge of children based on both formal learning and/or practical experience.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be acceptable as determined by the School Committee.

Responsibilities

• Relates teaching methods to growth and development of students.
• Plans long-range and short-range instruction aligned with curriculum.
• Maintains clear, objective progress reports to students and parents.
• Organizes the classroom for health, safety and effective learning.
• Cooperates with teachers and staff to support school and system policies.
• Uses English effectively in professional communication.
