Job summary

McHenry Middle School in McHenry, IL is seeking an Eighth Grade Language Arts Long-term Substitute Teacher to support classroom instruction starting September. The role reports to the Building Principal and requires an Illinois Professional Educator License.

The substitute will plan and deliver lessons, assess student progress, and collaborate with staff. Compensation is a long-term sub rate of $220 per day, with duties aligned to state and district standards.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Substitute license or Professional Educator License.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Aware of district requirements and Board of Education policies.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements instructional programs aligned with the District's curricular objectives.
• Delivers instruction and adjusts lessons based on student progress to improve academic and interpersonal skills.
• Designs classroom work to meet individualized learning plans within established lesson plans and state/district standards.
• Creates and administers assessments; uses data to evaluate student competency and inform learning plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely records to monitor student progress.
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe learning environment for students and staff.
• Uses technology to promote learning and collaboration; communicates objectives to students and collaborates with staff.
• Communicates with instructional staff, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes.
• Understands and applies diverse assessment strategies to support student development.
• Demonstrates strong classroom practice with technology integration.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
