Job summary

The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is seeking an Early Childhood Education Substitute Paraeducator to support classroom instruction at multiple sites during the school year.

Under supervision, the paraeducator will assist in lesson delivery, supervise students, prepare instructional materials, keep records, operate equipment, and help with behavior management and safety procedures in a dynamic school setting.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Six (6) units of Early Childhood Education.
• Ability to translate and adapt materials may be required for some positions.
• Must pass a Medical Examination.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning lessons and preparing instructional materials.
• Supervises and/or tutors individuals or small groups of pupils in specific skill areas.
• Assists in explaining subject matter to pupils and administering tests.
• Maintains pupil profiles and/or portfolios and operates instructional equipment.
